Wonder Docent is proud to present NEONoir: New Works in Watercolor by Ghost Baby. The show features 32 watercolor paintings, by artist Erika Peterson (Ghost Baby), varying in size from 5x7 to 12x18, all depictions of neon signs and the dark environs they illuminate.

NEONoir opens Friday, November 21st and runs through January 4th. The public is invited to an opening reception on Saturday, November 22nd from 6-8 pm at Wonder Docent, located at 230 Broad Street.

In celebration of the upcoming Open Studios Tour, Wonder Docent is highlighting the work of one of our favorite local artists, the iconic mixed media and soft sculpture creator Jori Jori (formerly known as Jori Phillips).

Over the course of the week leading up to Open Studios, Jori will be working on a large-scale hand-sewn sculptural piece in Wonder Docent’s big, beautiful Broad Street window. When Jori is not in the window, her work-in-progress, tools and supplies will remain for customers and passers by to see. 

This is a rare opportunity to watch the artist at work in her natural habitat: fully on display in a window.

Wonder Docent is proud to present Everything is Apocalyptical: A Vessels Show featuring ceramics by Nevada City’s Studio Caliari. Opening August 1st during the next Nevada City Art Walk, the show runs through August 31st.
