Have you ever played a video game from a past era? While many of us have grown up playing video games, we may find that the games we loved are becoming harder and harder to find. Why does this happen, and what can we do to keep playing the games we love?
Join us on Tuesday, August 12, for a talk and Q&A session with software preservation and emulation librarian Claire Fox, where we can dig into these questions together. Using examples of games from the 1980s and 1990s, Claire will speak about today's efforts to keep games alive–and how you can join in the effort!
This talk is for anyone who loves (and even makes!) games and digital art. Because this talk intersects with Doodle Party, we'll leave plenty of time for drawing, and Claire will bring materials from computing history to inspire our doodles.
Doodle Party is for ages 16+
